logon Creative Park – Fenglin Link
logon recently completed another creative park transformation masterpiece "Fenglin Link" in Shanghai. Fenglin Link is located in the traditional densely populated area of Xuhui District, surrounded by traffic fortresses where Metro Line 4 and Line 7 intersect. The base has three abandoned factories and various temporary buildings that have been increasing day by day over the years, with a total of 13 single units.
logon's transformation vision is to create a creative park that combines business offices and attracts small and medium-sized enterprises, and opens up a very attractive office space for users. The renovated Fenglin Link provides various possibilities for space use: business office space, creative studio, entrance plaza, commercial space and outdoor terrace, etc. These rich spaces and beautiful architectural language have attracted innovative enterprises. The company came to settle in. The ground floor is a convenient and comfortable open space, where the streets are connected to each other; while the studios and office areas above the second floor have more privacy.
The design first opens up an eye-catching and open entrance. On the left side of the entrance is a transparent glass exhibition hall with a large space, which can also be used for various parties, galleries, and small and medium-sized activities. In the face of a large number of chaotic buildings accumulated in different ages, the design needs to uphold the principle of unity first; at the same time, in order to create a rich user experience for users, the design also combines the principle of diversity and harmony between the old and the new. Each single building has different positions, structural forms and scales, which determine the way to distinguish between two different architectural languages in the treatment: for the buildings used as office areas, simple facade transformations are designed. Improve the window opening and facade materials, and deepen its architectural details; for the small retail and exhibition hall buildings scattered on site, it will become an important public space. Bricks, steel plates with holes, glass and other materials run through the design. These architectural elements combine the scattered monomers into a unified whole. At the same time, beautiful black stairs are used to link the buildings, making the entire park extend in all directions.
The highlight of the Fenglin link design is that a pedestrian inner street runs through the main entrance plaza and the rear courtyard, and a large number of retail and catering services are arranged on this pedestrian inner street. However, it is not easy to deal with this pedestrian inner street known as the "maze", which is also the main challenge of the project: it is an extremely long passage, an area that is completely shaded and lacks light. The original building was mixed with a large number of low-quality structures, and the buildings were messy and old; during the renovation process, logon spent a lot of time to understand the structure of the site, and finally transformed this main pedestrian inner street into a unified landscape. In order to solve the problem of light extraction, the originally closed square was deliberately opened into an open space, thus successfully introducing natural light. Nowadays, while admiring the buildings and landscapes along the way, pedestrians pass through the many restaurants, coffee shops and shops, and finally reach the back courtyard in a quiet corner, which is quite an artistic conception of Chinese gardens. For those who work here, they can breathe fresh air on the corridor during work breaks, smoke and chat with neighbors close at hand; or bring customers to the terrace to drink a cup of coffee; and then take visitors to the inner commercial street on the ground floor. Talking about things and taking a walk in the park, all these ideal office visions in the creative park era are normal things in Fenglin link.
