The lobby area is divided into two zones; reception and business. The materials and colors are light caramel on the walls with highlighted visual points with the Homeinn plus pattern. Iconic “sunny yellow” lamps lighten the space. The light color ceramic in combination with metal incorporation, create a sophisticated high-end look.
The hotel has 200 rooms of 21 m2 to 23m2, which are equipped with a double bed, desk, and TV. All furniture in the room is in “Dark Chocolate” color to highlight fixtures in this very light space. The concept design details are translated into the room with the “sunny yellow” wall lamps, creating consistency with the brand image. The art on the wall is an abstract painting in the same tones of the pattern which is translated into the room with a more personal touch keeping a well-rounded brand image concept throughout the public and private spaces of the hotel. Each room is set with its own bathroom, with shower, sink, and toilette. The design elements create a space where monochrome colors keep the space elegant and comfortable.
In the specific case of the Beijing Homeinn Plus Boutique, although the same design elements were transferred to this hotel, this time logon was able to translate the design concept to the exterior with a façade renovation. The former building was a street front neighborhood shop center, located in traditional Beijing Hutong Area, where the surroundings are quite mixed and chaotic. The building façade itself was cluttered and incoherent. How to create the “organized randomness” in the chaotic surrounding? This was one of the questions raised during the façade design. Meanwhile in order to keep the investment within the budget. All existing windows were kept but strengthened by oversized façade frames. Three layers of these frames cope with each other apply a three-dimensional vivid look, especially with the lighting design.
The lobby is located underground with a sunlight courtyard. The sunken lobby is a creative solution for an old building which was dark and only two stories high. logon designed a new circulation flow in the building by connecting the upper ground with an escalator to the underground level. An atrium that opens from the ceiling to the underground floor invites natural sunlight in through all the building. Creative sitting arrangements were designed were they can be used and seen as big, open steps. The whole space is delicately highlighted with the horizontal pattern textile and the “Sunny yellow” lamps which are the main feature, working as the official brand stamp of the Homeinn plus series. Guests can find elegant leisure space with movable tables and curtains, making the space flexible to change either for business or recreational activities.
