logon design selected for Fulei Library
The definition of a library in the digital era can't be any longer just the traditional archive of books, a silent place to sit and read. The concept of the C3 Library is an evolution of the traditional library building, and it looks more like a Culture Community Center, where the collection of books as a silent zone for solitary use is only part of a more diverse program, which includes activities and multimedia access.
C3 Library combines the books and magazines archives with commercial facilities, like a bookstore and a cafeteria and community functions, like auditorium, studios and multi-functional spaces.
Gathering, workshops, and exchange of ideas are ways to gain knowledge, therefore they too are a necessary functionality of a modern library concept. Silent and loud zones, individual and group usages, traditional and contemporary culture are combined into a Center in which the community can engage and interact. Beyond books, the Fulei Library will be Zhoupu new Community Center.

The atrium is the shared space at the centerof the building. It provides additional vertical accessibility through the four stories of the building. A large theater-like staircase provides seating andthe opportunity to use the atrium for events, gatherings or concerts.
A bookstore integrated with cafe area will beaccessible 24 hours a day, for a non-stop reading experience service. Provided with cafeteria, the bookstore is the place to stay for an extended visit and enjoy the time.
Although the current facade is new, its design is already outdated and does not suit the new functions planned for the building. The facade renovation concept opens and integrates the building with its surrounding riverside park, by preserving and adding larger windows. As the AC system will be centralized, the existing louvers are not needed anymore. The louvers are redesigned to create a new, vibrant, international and modern facade image. The building image will be representative of Zhoupu area and provide a strong identity for the Library.
