The whole R&D Center, located in Jining city, Shandong province, not only aims to make the most out on development but it is also high-quality life oriented since it aims to meet the local needs in all levels. For instance, the Jining Economic & Technology Development Zone is thought for its inhabitants to stay as close as possible so it comprises five villa complexes and two independent supporting facility buildings, allowing its users to save time on transportation and to decrease CO2 emissions. Additionally, new commercial facilities stand at the main entrance in the east and the square in the north.
As for the master plan layout, it is divided into 5 clusters, each of them made of 22-meter deep “己” shaped buildings. Their footprint stretches from east to west and fully occupies the width of the site. This permits to keep a comfortable distance of 20 meters from north to south between the buildings. Thus all office spaces get natural lightning and air circulation. From iconic and enclosing facades to colorful and human-scale architecture, the project echoes the urban surrounding as well as it fulfills the users’ needs.
